Procedure
This procedure is simple, fast, and non-invasive.
- Patient comes into physician’s office
- Technician will administer procedure
- Technician places three sensor arrays onto patient’s abdomen.
- Patient ingest capsule with water and passes naturally through your digestive tract
- Transmit video images to a data recorder for approximately 20 minutes.
- Data downloaded and transferred to referring physician. You will be able to eat directly after the examination.
After the ESO Capsule Endoscopy procedure
At the end of the procedure the images acquired will then be downloaded to a workstation for our gastroenterologist to review. After ingesting the capsule and until it is excreted, you should not have a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examination or be near a MRI machine. The capsule is disposable and exits naturally with your bowel movement. You should not feel any pain or discomfort.
