Preparation

For the best quality of the diagnosis, you will receive a copy of preparation instructions before the examination. The preparation instructions are also available below:

• No food for two hours prior to arriving at the physician’s office
• Iron supplements should be discontinued beginning three days before the procedure. You may resume taking the iron supplement once the procedure is complete.

Tell us in advance about any medications, the presence of a pacemaker or other implanted electromedical devices, previous abdominal surgery, swallowing problem or previous history of obstructions in the bowel.
