Procedure

This procedure is simple, fast, and non-invasive.

1. Patient comes into physician's office
2. Technician will administer procedure
3. Technician places 8 sensor arrays onto patient's abdomen
4. Patient ingest capsule
5. Patient comes back to physician's office 7 hours after capsule ingestion
6. Data downloaded and transferred to referring physician

After Small Bowel Capsule Endoscopy procedure
At the end of the procedure, you will need to come back to our office to return the data recorder and sensor array. The images acquired during the procedure will then be downloaded to a workstation for our gastroenterologist to review. After ingesting the capsule and until it is excreted, you should not have a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examination or be near a MRI machine. The capsule is disposable and exits naturally with your bowel movement. You should not feel any pain or discomfort.
